GambleAware future plans for improving the NGT service
With these upgrades, GambleAware aims to boost collaborations between its local partners and service providers in the industry.
The National Grambling Treatment Service (NGTS) is a leading organisation that focuses on aiding people suffering from the effects of gambling. It currently operates as a third-sector organisation and provides many services via its online platform, phone and in-present support.
With these new players, GambleAware wants to document its new intentions and help players in the United Kingdom.
Anna Hargrave, the CCO of GambleAware, stated: “Our organization is happy to report our new commissioning plans which are going to be based on the success of our support programs.”
“In the context of rising costs of living and increasing numbers of people at risk of gambling harm, we want to ensure our commissioning strategy can respond to the changing environment and the needs of the most vulnerable communities and groups.
“We have built up a wide pool of expertise and knowledge around gambling harms from years of working with our partners and we will continue to use this insight to improve and inform our work and ensure we are able to make a lasting impact on people’s lives.”
GambleAware also noted that before publishing its plan, there was a lot of work that was undertaken leading up to this point. It was in touch with leading stakeholders, partners of the National Health Service, local authorities, and experts.
“As the prices of living are growing the number of gamblers and people affected by it grows as well, so we need to make sure that our strategies are in line with our new environment and that communities who are in need are being supported. We have been working with our partners for many years now and have a deep understanding of gambling harms, so we are going to keep utilizing our knowledge to make sure that we make an impact.”
A study commissioned in 2020 by GambleAware revealed that the NGTS had successfully removed around 60% of patients from the problem gambling category. The outcomes are further verified in a similar report issued in 2021 on patients based in Scotland and Wales, which also showed consistent efficacy.
The NGTS continues to raise awareness by running various campaigns on the issues of problem gambling. Follow the latest news about responsible gambling here at NewCasinos.com.
