Rich Wilde and the Amulet of Dead
Rich Wilde and the Amulet of Dead
Game supplier Play’n GO has made sure that the legacy of Rich Wilde goes on. The latest slot game in this series, aptly named Rich Wilde and the Amulet of Dead, sees the main protagonist up to his tricks as he visits the Abu Simbel temples.
The iconic carvings representing pharaohs and deities make way for impressive imagery in this 5-reel and 10-payline slot game.
Similar to the Book of Dead slot game by the same makers, this latest offering is destined to garner popularity. In keeping up with tradition, this game is of medium to high volatility, so you can expect some wins if Lady Luck is on your side.
As per usual, the lowest paying symbols include the 10 to A royals, while the highest paying ones include the Egyptian artefacts and deities. The jingly-jangly traditional Egyptian music adds a nifty touch to the gaming atmosphere. It’s not in any way overbearing and adds an ambience.
With an RTP of 96.29%, it has an average payout rate, though slightly higher than that of the Book of Dead.

Rich Wilde and the Amulet of Dead bonus features
In terms of bonus features, there is nothing new when compared to the other slot games in this series.
However, you can enjoy a few extras that make a difference in the overall gameplay, including:
Thoth Wild
The Thoth Wild can crop up on reels 2,3 and 4. The Thoth Wild has two roles in this game, acting as both a scatter and a wild.
Landing between 1 and 3 Thoth Wilds on the reels at the same time rewards you with 2x to 5x multipliers. It is also available throughout the base game and the free spins round.
Thoth Multiplier
The Thoth wild symbol which can pop up on the three middle reels as a stack can trigger the Thoth Multiplier feature. As a fully stacked symbol, you can expect multipliers as follows:
- 1 fully stacked Thoth wild rewards you with a 2x multiplier
- 2 fully stacked Thoth wilds earns you a 3x multiplier
- 3 fully stacked Thoth wilds gains you a 5x multiplier
The multiplier is further applied to all wins on the triggering spin. This feature is available both during the base game and the free spins round.
Amulet Scatter
The Amulet scatter can show up on any reel. Five of them reward you with a 100x your bet. It also acts as a wild, replacing any other symbol in order to trigger the win. Landing three of these amulets, reward you with a free spins round.
Gamble feature
The gamble feature is also available throughout many games. After hitting a winning combination, you are asked whether you wish to collect your wins or to gamble them. If you collect them, you can proceed to spin the reels.
If you wish to gamble your winnings, you are whisked away to another screen where you must predict correctly the colour of the card that will pop up. Guess correctly and you’ll double your winnings. You can re-gamble your winnings again. If you guess incorrectly, you forfeit your winnings.
Rich Wilde and the Amulet of Dead RTP
The Rich Wilde and the Amulet of Dead RTP stand at an average of 96.27%, which is slightly higher than that of the sister slot, Book of Dead, whose RTP stands at 96.21%.
As a medium to high volatile game, you should expect substantial wins on an infrequent basis.
Verdict
Play’n GO has made sure that its latest offering has everything a Book of Dead fan could wish for, including wilds, scatters, multipliers and expanding wilds. However, it also lacks on some fronts.
When it comes to the graphics, the game looks especially magnificent. But, there is nothing out of the ordinary. The expanding symbol throughout the free spins round has been overdone in numerous games.
Additionally, variable paylines are not that common in this day and age, though how many players would actually opt to use less than 10 paylines remains questionable. You still have the option not to play with the full 10 paylines.
The Thoth wilds/multipliers add a touch of pizazz to the game both throughout the base game and the free spins. But as we said, there really is nothing to write home about.
You still get another slot game in this well-known series to test out, though it might leave some of you disappointed.
